Another dish of traditional South-Tyrol cuisine is weisswurst. It is a white sausage made from veal. It is a Bavarian-style dish served with home-made sweet mustard and bretzel. It has always been a tradition here to eat a weisswurst with sweet mustard at a street stall on sundays after church. And it is always accompanied with beer. “It’s a custom that still exists,” says Nicoletta from the birreria Hopfen & Co. “Therefore we have the dish all year on the menu. Boznier beer with the sausage is the aperitif before the alpine Italians go to the sunday family lunch, and only after the mass of course,” explains Nicoletta.
